This course is designed for adult beginners, art lovers, and anyone who would like to enjoy art, develop aesthetic sensibility, and build a long-term creative hobby in the midst of a busy life. Students will learn how to combine watercolor and colored pencil to create artwork with both soft color atmosphere and delicate details. Watercolor is ideal for expressing transparency, washes, gradients, and a light, flowing feeling, while colored pencil is perfect for layering, texture, fine details, and refining the final artwork. When used together, these two media can create works that feel both natural and expressive, yet polished and beautifully detailed. In this course, students will start with foundational techniques and gradually learn how to observe shapes, colors, light, shadow, and details, then transform those observations into more complete and expressive artworks. Course subjects may include flowers, plants, fruits, desserts, landscapes, everyday objects, and creative illustrations. This class is especially suitable for adults who enjoy nature, lifestyle aesthetics, hand-drawn illustration, and peaceful creative time. This is not simply a colored pencil class or a traditional watercolor class. It is a richer and more complete mixed media art course designed for adult creative expression. Students will learn watercolor washes, wet-on-wet effects, gradients, color transitions, colored pencil layering, color blending, light and shadow, texture, and basic composition. The course combines clear step-by-step demonstrations with themed practice projects, helping students build practical art skills while gradually developing their own aesthetic sense and personal artistic expression. This course is especially suitable for adults who would like to use art as a way to relax, improve focus, cultivate aesthetic appreciation, record everyday life, and develop a meaningful personal hobby. Each class will have a clear learning focus, and students will complete a small artwork or a guided practice project, allowing them to see their progress and enjoy a sense of creative achievement.
