Chinese martial arts, is both a form of exercise and self-defense. As a cultural manifestation of the oldest civilization still around today, it offers you a wealth of possibilities that are beneficial to your mind, soul and body. Now we are offering you the opportunity to learn Wu Shu Kung Fu.

Classes begin with one of the most important aspects , courtesy. In each class, we make a point to treat each other with respect and consideration. We begin with a variety of  warm up exercises then move to developing specific skills required for Wu Shu -Kung Fu. Next we focus on the basic techniques of the martial art which is the foundation for all future progress.

Finally we cover the specific Chinese martial art forms, which includes the following aspects:
1)       Forms or Taolu , the basis of art transmission, created in ancient times by the founding masters, here you will learn the Tang Lang Quan style (praying mantis),  Bagua style (palm of eight trigrams) and the most advanced Baji style (fist of eight extremes).
2)       Personal defense and use of traditional forms with a partner.
3)       Weapons work, broadsword, long stick, sword and spear.
4)       Chi kung energy development exercises.
5)       Combat - Sanda .

Instructor: JORGE PEREZ

Jorge Perez, 3rd degree black belt, began the practice of Chinese martial arts in the early 80’s at the age of five years old, under the tutelage of Yunys Zapata. At the time Mr. Zapata was the world runner-up in combat - Sanda. Ever since he was a child, Jorge stood out in combat, as well as in empty hand forms and weapons, obtaining many victories in the National Kung Fu Championships in his native country of Venezuela.

This led him to be part of the Venezuelan national team from 1997 until 2012 and part of the USA National Team since 2016 until now.  During this tenure, he obtained many Gold Medals in different National, South American, Pan American  and  International Championships. Several highlights of this period are his participation in the World Kung Fu Championships (WKC) held in China in 2006, 2008, 2010 and 2012 representing Venezuela,  and in 2017 representing the USA. This tournament is the most important Championship for Kung Fu Athletes endorsed by the International Wushu Federation – IWUF.  In the WKC alone, he has won  a total of  12 medals, including 3 Gold medals, 6 Silver medals and 3 Bronze medals. He also earned the title of “NASKA World Champion” in the Black Belt Chinese forms and Weapons division at the North American Sport Karate Association - NASKA circuit in both 2016 and 2017, consecutively.   The North American Sport Karate Association - NASKA circuit is considered to be the most prestigious martial arts circuit in USA.

In 2017 Jorge retired from active competition and decided to share his knowledge accumulated during years of training.

TRADITIONAL MARTIAL LINEAGE

In 2007 he is selected as a disciple or Dìzǐ  by his Master, traditionally entering the lineage called WUTAN, of the great master Liu Yun Chiao, one of the great bastions in Taiwan of the Chinese martial art. The chain of succession is LIU YUN CHIAO - TAI SHE CHE - YUNYS ZAPATA - JORGE PEREZ. -
This guarantees that the teaching given is authentic traditional Chinese martial art. -
