Class Description:

Have you ever wondered how to make a cool website or online portfolio for yourself or for family and friends? In this class, students will learn the basic design and functionalityof making websites. They will begin using the free website designer Weebly to start designing websites, then they will code using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to create even more functional websites. Students will also have the option to make web games. Coding experience is appreciated but not required as we will be going over everything from a beginner's standpoint. The skills students learned from this class can help them enhance their schoolwork, create attractive personal webpage / portfolio online and/or better serve the community.

Instructor: Eddy Zhao

Eddy Zhao is a high school student at Acton-Boxborough Regional High School. He started doing website design when he was a 2nd grader. He is a winner of national math competitions and has learned several programming languages including Python, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS. Besides this class, Eddy also teaches "Coding Interactive Games with Scratch" class at the ACLS in the fall semester.

Eddy is an easy-going and warm-hearted instructor. He wants to share his talent with students and help them be successful and have fun in website design.
